Local eateries and shops
Locally-sourced foods, farmers markets and home-grown offerings have
certainly arrived in Fergus Falls. People want to eat food that’s good for
them, to know where it was grown and who benefits from their purchase.
Restaurants in Fergus Falls were quick to adopt this food sourcing trend.
Menus often change depending on what produce is in season and what
they’re catching on area lakes. Treat your tastebuds to a local favorite.
Artisan breads, wood-fired pizza, locally brewed beer and organic, single-
sourced chocolate are some of the highlights. Farmers Markets run all
summer long (Wednesday afternoons and Saturday mornings). During the
winter, local bakers, canners and even crafters relocate to the warmth of
the Westridge Mall.
Eclectic, antique, boutique, quaint. Downtown Fergus Falls has many new
and unique shops that line downtown’s tree-lined boulevard. Both spectrums
of the shopping continuum are represented – from high end boutiques to
specialty and consignment shops. To discover this shopping paradise, drive
on Lincoln Ave. from the west. The lovely tree-lined streets and historic
homes provide a promenade leading to downtown. Explore the nooks and
crannies that house specialty gift stores, coffee shops and one of many
antique shops. With everything old being new again, antique shops dot
the landscape and provide great opportunities to find local treasures.
The Otter Tail River and the RiverWalk
are one block south of the downtown
shopping district. Interpretive panels
and picnic areas provide respite from
your shopping and dining.
Fergus Falls is also home to many
national retailers including Target,
Home Depot, Sears, Mills Fleet Farm
and Walmart. The Westridge Mall
and these stores are easy to find on
the west side of town near most
of the hotels.
